Snow removal app expands to Albany

A snow removal app that connects homeowners to snow removing professionals just expanded to our area. The app is called GreenPal.

The app is essentially Uber for snow removal. Gene Caballero is the co-founder of the app. He says they realized there was a need in Albany for the service.

GreenPal has been around since 2012 and has primarily been focused on lawn care. About 2 years ago, GreenPal expanded to snow removal. They recently launched in the Albany area. Homeowners who are looking for snow removal can go to GreenPal.

The homeowners will then list their properties with their service date and snow removal needs. Then, vetted pros can then bid on their properties.

Caballero is the co-founder of GreenPal. He says a couple years ago they realized there was a need for the service in the Northeast. He says they are happy to help people, especially those who are unable to remove snow themselves.

"It kind of snowballed into, hey we’re helping people that can’t necessarily plow or can’t shovel the snow themselves, or don’t want to do it. You know, we’ve been fortunate to help both sides of the equation, the homeowner and the vendor with the platform," said Caballero.
