The DEC employs hundreds of Environmental Conservation police officers and forest rangers.
The goal of the pledge is for women to make up 30% of that force by 2030. Right now it’s approximately 10%.
Forest Ranger Lieutenant Megan Lapierre says when she first started, she compared herself to the men on the job, but not anymore.
