State DOT to bump up warning signals at low clearance bridge

GLENVILLE – The state Department of Transportation announced plans to reduce the number of crashes into the Glenville Bridge.

Next month, flashing lights will be installed on the 14 signs along Glenridge Road that warn of low clearance.

The state will eventually install an active warning system and a turnaround area on both sides of the bridge.

They will also urge drivers to avoid using certain software that doesn’t alert them to the height of the bridge.
