State police to crack down on impaired driving over Super Bowl weekend

It’s Super Bowl weekend, and police are reminding New Yorkers to never drink and drive and to make a plan for getting home safely.

The New York State Police will be cracking down on impaired and reckless driving this weekend. People can expect to see more troopers out and sobriety checkpoints.

During last year’s Super Bowl campaign, State Police arrested 140 people for impaired driving, and gave out nearly 9,000 tickets.
