Legislation intended to give survivors of sex crimes the ability to bring civil claims against their predators passed unanimously in the state Senate. The Assembly still has to vote on it.

The Adult Survivors Act is specifically for victims who are 18 years old or older and gives a one-year look back window for the crimes committed against them.

The Child Victims Act was passed in 2019. That gave victims 18 years and younger that one-year look back period as well.
