CDTA is out with a new carsharing program. It’s called Drive.

You can choose a vehicle when you need it for errands, appointments or something else in the Albany area.

Users will have access to a network of cars 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The vehicles are electric to cut down on air pollution.

"Carshare goes naturally with buses, with bikes with scooters. It’s another way for people to get around. People have been asking for it, and we’ve been watching the region…waiting for this to happen, and when it didn’t happen, we said – ‘We can do that,’" said CDTA CEO Carm Basile.

CDTA says you can book a vehicle for as little as $5 per hour – or $40 per day.
