Hannaford plans to operate on 100% renewable energy by 2024

Hannaford Supermarkets plans to have all its stores operating on 100% renewable energy by 2024.
It’s the most aggressive timeline announced by any large-scale supermarket chain in the Northeast.
To reach that goal, Hannaford has implemented LED lights, night shades, and state-of-the-art refrigeration systems. There is also rooftop solar on 10 of its stores.
Currently, Hannaford operates at 30% renewable energy.
