People came out to Albany Sunday to ‘stuff a bus’ full of winter coats for kids in the Capital Region.
The Empire Christian Center and First Student teamed up to gather coats, hats, gloves, scarves and other winter clothing items. Members from the community came out to help donate to families who may struggle to provide those extra layers needed for the cold New York State winters ahead.
The two organizations hope to be raise 1000 coats to donate across at least four school districts in the area.
"You see them come to school with a t-shirt on or maybe a sweatshirt," said Paster Tre Staton, "we just wanted to be a blessing for the kids over the winter."
The organizations will be accepting donations through November 20th. Anyone interested in lending a hand can drop off donations at the Empire Christian Center located at 205 Washington Ave. Ext. in Albany.
