Stuyvesant fire chiefs rescue flag downed in severe storms

STUYVESANT – It was a kind gesture emerging from storm clean up.

Two chiefs from the Stuyvesant Fire Company saw a downed flagpole in someone’s yard while surveying storm damage on Wednesday.

No one was home at the time, so Chiefs Andrew Montie and Stephen McGrath, picked up the flag, properly folded it and returned it to a safe place at the front door of the home.
