Teen recovering after being shot in Albany
Albany police are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was shot on Washington Avenue early Monday morning.
Police say they were notified by Albany Medical Center around 2 a.m. that a 16-year-old had walked into the emergency room after being shot in the arm. The teen told officers he had been shot on Washington Avenue, near Quail Street, by an unknown person.
He was treated at the hospital and is expected to be okay.
This latest shooting comes after a weekend of violence in the city, including two separate homicides. On Friday, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan declared a state of emergency because of the gun violence.
