Texas program has kids reading to therapy horses

DALLAS, Tx. – Therapy horses at Equest are used to be led around by people who are just learning the ropes. Now they’re trying something new.

Students aren’t learning how to ride a horse. Instead, they’re learning how to read to a horse.

The students have been writing to their four-legged pen pals for months.

The connections they’ve made on paper are now in person.

Kids get more comfortable reading, and horses are all ears.
