The Lake George Winter Carnival has returned. The annual month long celebration kicked off Saturday.

The winter carnival had activities for people of all ages. There were pony rides, helicopter rides and there were even people riding on snowmobiles.

To stay warm, people had the opportunity to visit the hot chocolate bar at the beach.

This festival attracts people from all over the North East. A group of friends from the New Jersey area made there way to Lake George. Melanie Patterson says it was rough dealing with COVID, so she was happy to spend time with friends.

"You underestimate the time you spend with everybody, the time you get to hang out with friends and stuff, so to just be with everybody to just laugh and hang out," said Patterson.

The fun continues Sunday at noon. There will be activities taking place every weekend the rest of the month.
