FLORIDA, N.Y. – The town of Florida’s volunteer fire department has some new training equipment to try out.
The equipment will be used for training in the department’s first responder rescue operations.
The gear was made possible by a donation from a local solar energy facility.
"To support the town of Florida’s Volunteer Fire Department with $2,500 for their mountain rescue training course, so the High River Energy Center and NextEra Energy Resources does everything that it can to be there to support the communities in which we do business," said Keddy Chandran, High Ridge Project Developer.
The fire department just celebrated its 75th anniversary last month. They are located in Montgomery County.
