A traffic stop in Albany netted a local man a lot more than just a traffic ticket.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple say the driver, Alfonso Davis, had a suspended license, and his passenger, Syir Lewis was in possession of a loaded 9mm ghost gun.

Deputies also say they found more than six pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle.

Lewis is also a suspect in another investigation in which he attempted to cash a fraudulent check in the amount of $4,987.55 in November 2021.

Davis was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of cannabis, aggravated unlicensed operator, and was cited for various traffic infractions.

Lewis was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a forged instrument, and attempted grand larceny.

Both were brought to the Albany County Correctional Facility, and arraigned at Albany City Court.
