UAlbany students hold rally in support of Ukraine
ALBANY – Students at UAlbany came together on Thursday to show their support for Ukrainians amid the ongoing attack by Russian forces.
Students say despite being half a world away, they feel there’s something they can contribute to the cause.
Students raised money to send over for military and humanitarian aid.
However, this was also an opportunity to show support for people in Ukraine – as well as Ukrainians throughout the SUNY system.
Several dozen students came together to express their strong support for democracy in Ukraine.
They talked about fellow students who hail from the country, worried about their home.
Besides fundraising, students wanted to join the chorus of voices from around the world supporting the Ukrainian people, and condemning the Russian invasion.
Hear organizers explain why having this rally means so much to them by watching the video.
