The return of The CREATE Symposium is back for the first time since the pandemic began.

CREATE stands for Cultivating Resources for Employment with Assistive Technology. College students from across the state come up with innovations to help people with disabilities succeed in their workplace.

The students demonstrated their inventions last week in Albany.

The team from the University at Albany took the $15,000 first prize with a paper shredder disposal system. The goal of the project was to make it easier for the worker to dispose of the shredded paper through an automatic process.

The winning team from the University at Albany will share their prize money with the Center for Disability Services.
