The University at Albany gave an update Tuesday on its COVID protocols for the spring semester, which is scheduled to begin January 19.

Officials say at some point, a booster shot will likely become mandatory for all students on campus.

As a result, the school is asking students, faculty and staff to get a booster as soon as they can, and submit proof to the university.

Students without the booster will be required to go through surveillance testing.

Before returning to campus next month, all students will be required to show proof of a negative COVID test.
