TROY – With New York lifting most COVID restrictions, more fans can now attend professional sporting events.

The Tri-City ValleyCats will soon welcome their first 100% capacity crowd for the first time in nearly two years.

ValleyCats General Manager Matt Callahan says they were operating at 40% capacity. With nine home games left in June, they will be increasing to just over 50% capacity.

Come July, they will be at full capacity.

Also there will no longer be vaccinated and unvaccinated sections starting next month.

Callahan says the players are ready to play again in a stadium full of fans.

Hear him discuss how exciting it’s been to have the crowds slowly return by watching the video of Jonathan Hunter’s story.
