NewsChannel 13 salutes US Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Douw Mac Haffie of Albany.
He served from 1939 to 1968, including time at Pearl Harbor.
Later, he worked as a civilian historian for the Navy in California, and wrote a book about his experiences.
He passed away in 2001.
