Please join us in saluting Army Private Richard "Perry" Haines of Scotia.
The highly decorated veteran served in World War II during the 1940s. That includes time in Germany helping to free prisoners at a concentration camp.
He also owned Haines Garage in East Glenville for more than 40 years.
He passed away in 2004 at age 83.
