Woman hit by van at busy Guilderland intersection

GUILDERLAND – A woman was hit by a van Wednesday morning on Western Avenue in Guilderland, causing a lot of traffic issues. It happened in the area of Winding Brook Drive, near Guilderland Elementary School and the YMCA.
Police say the victim, 53-year-old Aferdita Bardhi of Guilderland, was hit by a car turning from Winding Brook onto Western.
Bardhi taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. At last check, she was in stable condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
