Albany Empire owner Antonio Brown was on the field for his very first practice Thursday, days after saying he would officially join the team as a player, in addition to being an owner.

The practice was at Afrim’s in Colonie on Thursday.

Brown only played for a very brief time, making a quick catch. This marks Brown’s first time practicing as a player with the team.

Brown said he will be playing this Memorial Weekend for Empire’s home game against the Fayetteville Mustangs.

The former NFL wide receiver doesn’t take playing arena football for granted and admitted it will be a challenge, but one he’s not afraid to take.

He’s encouraging all fans to come out and enjoy the game, and is even offering free tickets to veterans and first responders this Saturday.
