WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. – A piece of Berkshire County baseball history will be honored in West Stockbridge.
A plaque will be dedicated at the former Keresey Field, home of the Troy’s Garage Baseball Team which played in the 1930s and 1940s.
In addition to playing other regional teams, Troy’s Garage hosted games against four Major League Baseball teams from 1934 to 1941.
This event is thanks to a local writer and baseball historian Kevin Larkin, who spearheaded the effort to get a permanent plaque for the field.
It’s now owned by the state of Massachusetts.
Right now, you can’t even tell baseball was ever played there. The unveiling was scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
