Hawai’i capitalizes on Great Danes’ mistakes, UAlbany comes up short in 31-20 setback

UAlbany football team lost its second straight game to an FBS opponent on Saturday after losing 31-20 at Hawaii in Honolulu.

The game was tied 17-17 at halftime and UAlbany trailed 24-20 late in the 4th quarter when a costly turnover led to a game winning touchdown. 

The UAlbany defense sacked Hawaii quarterback Brayden Schager four times but the offense had its struggles.

Sophomore quarterback Reese Poffenbarger complete only 10-31 passes and the Great Danes dropped to 1-2 on the season.

UAlbany has a week off before traveling to Morgan State.

Great Danes open their CAA conference schedule September 30th at Casey Stadium against Villanova.
