Mechanicville trainer has high hopes for his Belmont horse
Chad Brown, a trainer from Mechanicville, has been prepping his morning line favorite for the Belmont Stakes.
Sierra Leone is at 9-5 odds in the 10 horses running the third leg of the Triple Crown on Saturday.
Sierra Leone came in second in the Preakness. Now Brown has a chance to win one of racing’s most historic events just up the road from his hometown.
“Especially winning the first one ever in Saratoga would really be the highlight of my career,” Brown said.
Sierra Leone has the mile-and-a-quarter stamina, and he’s a come-from-behind horse that Brown is high on.
