Shen sophomore to play in World Lacrosse women’s championship game
A local high school sophomore is about to show off her lacrosse skills on the international stage.
Shenendehowa’s Macy Zeilman will play next month for the German national team in the World Lacrosse Women’s U20 championship.
The team will play in Hong Kong, from Aug. 15 through the Aug. 24.
Zeilman, whose paternal grandmother from Germany, first played varsity lacrosse at Shenendehowa in 2022 as a seventh grader.
“I am profoundly honored to play the game I love on the world stage at the World Lacrosse U20 Championship in Hong Kong,” she said in a statement. “Representing Germany, a nation where my heritage lies and where I still have family, is an extraordinary privilege.”
