Albany County impounds 17 ‘ghost cars’
Albany County officials say they have removed more “ghost cars” from the streets of Albany.
Albany County officials say they have removed more “ghost cars” from the streets of Albany.
Seventeen unregistered and uninsured vehicles were impounded, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.
Many of the vehicles had either switched license plates, stolen license plates, fraudulent license plates or no license plates attached to them at all.
Getting these types of cars off the streets is important since they’re at times connected to violent crimes such as burglaries and shootings, investigators said.
This is the second time “ghost cars” have been removed from Albany’s streets.
Albany County removed at least 12 cars last month, investigators said.
