Albany Tulip Court focuses on positive initiatives such as literacy.

The Albany Tulip Court is focusing on positive initiatives such as the mayor’s literacy program.

Julianna Tourangeau, one of the members of the court, tells NewsChannel 13 that she is really excited to work with a strong group of girls.

“We’re focusing on the mayor’s literacy program – going into local elementary schools in the area and promoting wellness through literacy,” she said.

Imani Ibrahim said she likes that members of the court can serve as a role model for other girls.

“I think that it means that you’ll be able to showcase yourself in all the abilities that you might have on a larger platform and get to work with other like-minded women to fulfill all the wonderful ideas that you have just to better our city of Albany,” she said.

Ryleigh Hotaling said the court has attended Alive at 5 events. They also will be at the Albany LatinFest on Aug. 24 and other events during the summer.
