Amsterdam man accused of bribing witness

An Amsterdam man is in jail, accused of bribing a witness in a case against him.

John F. Greenfield, 43, allegedly offered a benefit to a witness to influence their testimony, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Greenfield faces charges of assault and possession of a weapon in that case.

Greenfield was arraigned in Glen Town Court and set back to Montgomery County Jail without bail. He is currently charged with assault and possession a weapon, said investigators, and is due back in court at a later date.
