Amsterdam man admits to distributing crack
An Amsterdam has pleaded guilty on Tuesday to distributing crack cocaine in the Amsterdam area.
Angelo Dalmau, 54, admitted in U.S. District Court that he stole about 250 grams of crack on five occasions between September 2021 and March 2022. He also told the court that he sent $149,500 in drug proceeds to another person in order to launder the funds from his drug trafficking operation, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Dalmau was arrested in April 2022 and has been in custody since then. Police found about 100 grams of crack, drug paraphernalia, around $191,843 in cash and a loaded pistol in his residence, according to prosecutors.
Dalmau is expected to receive a sentence of nearly 8 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million when sentenced on Aug. 23.
