A new air service is coming to Albany International Airport.

Avelo Airlines will offer a nonstop route from Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina to Albany.

“Durham is one of the airport’s top presently non-served destinations, so we are excited that this is going to be a direct route to one of the most exciting areas in the country,” said Albany International Airport CEO Phil Calderone. “It’s a research triangle. We have a lot of relationships locally with firms doing business in the Raleigh-Durham area.”

Experts predict this will have a $15 million economic development impact on this route alone.

The route will fly on Mondays and Fridays.
