Ballston man admits to setting apartment on fire

A Ballston man has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for intentionally setting his apartment on fire.

David A. Fink, 27, was arrested on Aug. 29 after police said he started the fire at an apartment complex on Dominic Drive at about 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday. The Ballston Spa Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

Saratoga County and New York state fire investigators determined the fire to be suspicious. In addition, they found that the fire suppression system and fire alarms in Fink’s apartment were disabled before the fire was started.

Fink pleaded guilty in January to attempted arson. He also must serve 5 years of post-release supervision, according to the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office.
