Bennington County man accused of firing gun during dispute

A Bennington County man is accused of firing a gun into the air during a dispute.

Vermont State Police responded to a residence on Pine Ridge Drive on Thursday just before 9 p.m. The caller reported that Nathen Susee, 34, of North Benington, was on her property and trying to start a fight with other residents.

When officers arrived, police learned William Danforth, 58, of Pownal, allegedly fired a gun into the air during the confrontation, they said.

No one was hurt.

Danforth was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Susee was charged with aggravated disorderly conduct and unlawful trespass.

Danforth was scheduled to appear in court on Friday afternoon. Susee is due to appear in court on Aug. 12.
