New York state senators are unveiling a new bill that would help volunteers get through college.

The proposal would provide free SUNY, CUNY or community college tuition to volunteers firefighters, EMS workers and auxiliary police officers.

Legislators are hoping the bill encourages the next generation to serve, and thanks those who already do.
