An agricultural burn got out of control last week in Washington County.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation was called out for assistance for a fire on Kenyon Road on April 1 in Cambridge. The brush burn escaped containment and spread to an nearby building, DEC said.

The Easton Fire Department was on scene and assisted DEC forest rangers in putting out the fire.

The person who started the fire was issued a ticket for leaving the burn unattended.
