Chatham Brewing debuts Phish-inspired flavor
Chatham Brewing is celebrating Phish’s return to Albany with the “Play It Leo” Hazy India Pale Ale.
Phish is playing Oct. 25, Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 at MVP Arena.
The IPA is a blend of Nelson, Mosaic and Citra hops, according to the brewery’s Facebook post.
The flavor is “bursting” with tropical flavors, they said, and was developed conjunction with Cia Brewery and Rip Van Winkle Brewing Co. It will be available this upcoming weekend.
The name is a shoutout to Paige McConnell, the beloved Phish keyboard player whose nickname is Leo. The drink is an update of a beer originally made to commemorate the jam band’s shows at SPAC in 2018. The drink will soon be on tap at the brewery’s tasting room
The flavor is an update to one that commemorated the band’s shows in 2018. It will be available at prominent nearby bars, restaurants and beverage centers.
All proceeds benefit the Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program and its newly opened facility in Ludlow, VT.
