Colonie residents face more gun charges

Two Colonie residents accused of hunting in Pittstown State Forest with illegal guns earlier this month now face more charges.

Kevin B. Wang, 28, and Kyle E. Zheng, 22, were shooting at the Pittstown State Forest in Grafton on Friday at around 4 p.m., New York State Police said. A forest ranger found Wang and Zheng had multiple illegal non-compliant firearms. The ranger confiscated the weapons.

Police searched their homes and found two 3D printers, multiple 3D-printed gun parts, armorer tools used to assemble guns, a ghost gun, numerous boxes of ammunition and body armor. Police also found methamphetamines, psilocybin mushrooms and cash.

Both were charged with 12 total felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon. They were arraigned in Grafton Town Court and sent without bail to Rensselaer County Jail.

Now, Wang is facing another count of criminal possession of a weapon and four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and 28 counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm.

Zheng is facing two more counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

They are being held in Rensselaer County Jail.
