The Colonie Planning Bboard is planning to look at the sketch plan at its meeting on Tuesday.
The new store is planned to be more than 20,000 square feet.
The proposed spot would be right near where Route 9 meets Route 2 on Loudon Road.
The only other Aldi in Albany County is currently on Central Avenue in Colonie.
There is also one in Rensselaer County.
