Damar Hamlin’s 2023 collapse inspires new AED partnership in Capital Region
The dramatic lifesaving event of NFL player Damar Hamlin last year, inspired a new partnership here in the Capital Region.
Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation and the American Red Cross of Eastern New York are teaming up to help save lives.
The foundation will launch quarterly mini-grant funding open to community nonprofits to buy an automated external defibrillator, or AED, which helped shock the Buffalo Bills player’s heart back into rhythm.
The partnership will kick-off during AED and CPR Awareness Week on June 1.
