Fake missing kids scam seeks to get people’s money
A new hoax has been popping up across social media and it has made its way to the Berkshires, according to Pittsfield Police.
The scam uses pictures of random children claiming that they have been found and asks users to share the post.
After enough people share the post, these scammers will then go back and edit the post and change it to promote a program that gives people money if they click the link.

The Better Business Bureau said one red flag to watch out for is that these posts will often have the comments turned off.
This hoax has already shown up in several Berkshire County community groups, Pittsfield Police said.
