Fluoridation on Albany Common Council agenda
Common Council to vote on fluoride in water supply
Whether to add fluoride to the city’s water supply will be on the agenda tonight for the Albany Common Council.
The city has never had fluoridated water. Mayor Kathy Sheehan supports adding it to the water supply, saying it will help underserved communities with limited access to dental care. Fluoride is a mineral found in most toothpastes, which can help prevent dental cavities and improve oral health.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m.
