Ice climber rescued in Greene County

An ice climber was rescued after falling 30 to 40 feet in Greene County.  

It happened on Friday morning off Route 23A in the town of Hunter.  

Grene County Paramedics and Humter Ambulance were dispatched to the scene, according to the department’s Facebook page. The Tannersville and Haines Falls fire departments also arrived. A technical ropes teams was requested to remove the patient. 

Hunter Ambulance transported the patient. A physician team from Albany Medical Center met up with them for a possible blood transfusion.  

There was no immediate word on the patient’s condition.
