Investigators: Delmar man lied about being retired police officer

A Delmar man lied to investigators about being a retired officer, investigators said.
It happened during a traffic stop in Albany on July 24.
Richard Filipello showed a police badge that wasn’t his, deputies said.
Filipello, 60, has never served in law enforcement, investigators said.
He was charged with criminal impersonation, and is due in court at a later date.
