Lawmaker proposes bill to clarify embryos outside womb are not children
A New York lawmaker has proposed a bill that would say that embryos outside the womb are not children.
The New York State Legislature is considering a bill that would declare embryos outside a person not to be a human life.
This new proposal comes from Long Island New York State Sen. Jack Martins.
It came after the Alabama Supreme Court ruled last week that frozen embryos are children. That decision stopped treatment for many people who were going through fertility treatments in the state.
People struggling with infertility should not have to deal with more obstacles, said Martins.
