Lawmakers to return to Capitol on Thursday for budget talks
Assemblywoman Pat Fahy said that housing and education are among the items that are holding up the budget.
State lawmakers are heading back to the Capitol on Thursday to work on New York’s budget, which was due April 1.
Assemblywoman Pat Fahy, D-Albany, told NewsChannel 13 that many members had been back in their districts celebrating religious holidays. The Senate returns to session on Thursday and the Assembly on Friday.
She believes that the budget talks will continue into next week.
Housing is among the main sticking points. Fahy said that lawmakers cannot go home without a plan for more housing.
“We need to grow our housing base,” she said.
