Local teachers earn National Board certification

NYSUT recognizes National Board Certified teachers

NYSUT recognizes 50 new National Board Certerfied teachers

Fifty new teachers, including some from the Capital Region, have achieved National Board certification.

Teachers have to go through a rigorous, peer-reviewed process to achieve this certification – which is known as the “gold standard” for teachers.

Here’s the list of Capital Region teachers who received the award:

  • Bethlehem: Dana DiGiansante, generalist/middle childhood
  • Glens Falls: Megan McCabe, Science/early adolescence
  • Saratoga-Adirondack BOCES: Wendy Hill, exceptional needs specialist/early childhood through young adulthood
  • Schalmont: John Urbanski, English Language Arts/early adolescence
  • Schenectady: Lewis Butts, exceptional needs specialist/early childhood through young adulthood
  • Shenendehowa
  • Jennifer Jette, English Language Arts/adolescence and young adulthood
  • Erin Faeth, Literacy: reading-language arts/early and middle childhood
  • Andrew Mink, career and technical education/early adolescence through young adulthood
  • Windham-Ashland-Jewett: Jennifer Higgins, science/early adolescence
