Man admits to having gun with defaced serial number at mall

A Brooklyn man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to possessing a gun with a defaced serial number.

Adam Gomez, 26, admitted in U.S. District Court in Albany that on Sept. 8, 2022, he had a Glock 17 handgun with an “obliterated” serial number at Crossgates Mall, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Gomez faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of up to three years.
