You may run into traffic near Berkshire Medical Center over the next month and a half.

A Massachusetts Department of Transportation project is underway to improve the intersections and traffic signals near the hospital.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane on First Street and North Street between Burbank Street and Abbott Street from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the week. This will run through at least May 6.

All BMC parking areas will stay open during construction.

Detours to parking areas may be in place at certain times.
