Capital Region high school students got the chance Monday to take part in the state legislative process.
The students got some hands-on lawmaking experience through Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara’s annual student cabinet meeting.
This year’s meeting at the New York State Capitol was a mock legislative hearing addressing “The Use of AI in Schools.”
The mock hearing was facilitated by students. They were able to interact with the assistant superintendent of the Northeastern Regional Information Center and the president of the Schenectady Federation of Teachers.
The student cabinet program offers students a unique opportunity to advocate for issues affecting their future.
