Ohio man injured in workplace accident in Bennington County

An Ohio man was seriously injured after being electrocuted on the job in last week in Bennington County.

Jonathan Abner, 44, an employee of Northline Utilities, was doing contract work for Green Mountain Power in Arlington late Thursday afternoon. Abner touched an energized power line while performing work, Vermont State Police said.

He was taken by helicopter to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was last known to be in critical, but stable condition.

The incident does not appear to be suspicious and has been reported to Vermont’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The investigation is continuing.
